Terms & Conditions
WayMarg · Terms v1.0 · Last updated: 29 Jun 2026
๐ง Beta Notice: WayMarg is in active development. Features, data
practices, and these terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continued use
after changes means you accept the updated terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using WayMarg โ including the trip planner, shared trip links, group polls,
or any other feature โ you agree to these Terms and our
Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. What WayMarg Is
WayMarg is a travel planning platform that helps users build itineraries,
discover curated temple trails, adventure routes, and food journeys, compare
travel options, and coordinate trips with others. WayMarg is a planning aid โ
not a booking platform, not a travel agent, and not a financial service.
2.1 How Information on WayMarg Is Created
It helps to understand where the information you see actually comes from:
- Trips are created by users. You build, edit, and reorder your own itinerary.
- AI may assist. WayMarg may use AI to suggest, organize, or fill in parts of a trip โ see Section 6.
- Underlying place and trail data comes from a mix of sources โ official authorities, public datasets such as OpenStreetMap, providers such as Google Places, third-party platforms, and our own editorial research and curation.
- Collaborators can modify shared trips. Anyone with edit access to a shared trip can change it โ see Section 4.
- WayMarg does not monitor every location in real time. We do not have live feeds from restaurants, trails, or temples, so conditions on the ground can move faster than our listings.
Because of this mix of sources, always verify changing information โ hours, prices, closures, conditions โ independently before and during travel.
3. Beta Service
WayMarg is currently in beta. This means:
- Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly
- Data (including shared trips stored on Firebase) may be lost during updates
- We make no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or continuity of service
- These terms will evolve as the product matures
4. Shared Trips & Group Planning
When you share a trip using the "Share Trip" or "WhatsApp" button:
- Public by token โ a unique link is generated. Anyone with this link can view your trip plan, vote in polls, and respond to "Who's coming?". There is no additional access control.
- You are responsible for who you share the link with. WayMarg is not responsible if a shared link reaches unintended recipients.
- Voter names are voluntary and unverified. Anyone can enter any name when voting โ WayMarg does not verify identity.
- Shared data is stored on Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, India region) and is automatically deleted 90 days after creation. Trip owners can delete shared data immediately via the "Delete shared trip" button.
- Do not share trips containing sensitive personal information (passport numbers, financial account details, home addresses, etc.).
4a. User-Generated Content
Trips, comments, votes, and other content created or modified by users โ
including by collaborators on a shared trip โ are user-generated content.
- You are responsible for the content you create, share, or modify on WayMarg.
- WayMarg does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for user-generated
itineraries, comments, votes, or other shared content.
- If a collaborator changes a shared trip, that change reflects the
collaborator's input, not a WayMarg recommendation.
- WayMarg reserves the right to remove or restrict user-generated content
that violates these Terms or applicable law.
5. Budget Split & UPI Features
The Budget Split and UPI link features are tracking and convenience tools only.
- WayMarg does not process, hold, or transfer any money.
- UPI deep links open your UPI app directly โ WayMarg is not a party to any payment.
- WayMarg is not responsible for payment disputes between travellers.
- Amounts shown are user-entered estimates โ verify independently before making payments.
- Before authorizing any UPI payment, verify the recipient, the amount, and the transaction details directly in your UPI app. WayMarg generates the link as a convenience โ your UPI app is the source of truth for what you're actually paying.
๐ก The Budget Split feature is a shared calculator. All financial decisions and payments are entirely between the travellers involved.
6. AI Recommendations
WayMarg may use automated systems, including AI services, to help generate
itineraries, organize travel information, and provide planning suggestions.
These suggestions are provided for convenience and should be independently
verified before travel. Suggestions are:
- Suggestions only โ not professional travel advice
- Based on publicly available data and may be outdated
- Not verified for safety, accessibility, or current operating status of venues
Always verify important details (opening hours, entry fees, transport availability)
independently before travel.
6a. No Professional Advice
Nothing on WayMarg โ including AI-generated suggestions, trail notes, or
itinerary content โ is professional advice. Specifically, it is not:
- Medical advice
- Legal advice
- Financial advice
- Mountaineering or expedition advice
- Emergency or disaster-response advice
For any of the above, consult a qualified professional or the relevant
authority. In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly โ do not
rely on WayMarg.
7. Travel Information, Listings & Conditions
Building on Section 2, the following additional information applies to
specific categories of content on WayMarg: trekking and adventure trails,
restaurants and food listings, and temples.
7.1 Trekking & Adventure Trails
Trekking, hiking, and mountain travel are inherently hazardous. Depending on the
trail, this can include falls and injury on uneven or exposed terrain, altitude
sickness (which can be serious or fatal even for fit individuals), extreme weather,
river crossings, landslide and avalanche risk, wildlife encounters, and remoteness
with limited mobile coverage or evacuation options.
- Trail difficulty ratings, safety notes, route conditions, permits, and guide
requirements are provided for planning only and may be outdated, incomplete, or
inaccurate. A recent update date is not a guarantee of current accuracy.
- WayMarg is not a tour operator, guide service, or the official permit-issuing
authority for any trail. Always confirm current conditions, permits, fees, and
access rules with the relevant official local authority before you travel.
- If you have a pre-existing health condition, consult a doctor before
undertaking any strenuous or high-altitude trek. Some trails impose their own
mandatory medical or screening requirements independent of WayMarg.
- Outdoor activities involve inherent risks. Users remain responsible for
assessing their own abilities, equipment, and current conditions before
undertaking any trail.
- Floods, landslides, earthquakes, political unrest, and similar events can
close or alter a trail without warning to anyone, including the listed
authority. WayMarg is not liable for losses, injury, or trip disruption arising
from such events.
- Weather, emergency closures, and natural disasters can change trail
accessibility with no advance notice. Always check current conditions with the
relevant local authority before setting out.
7.2 Restaurants & Food Listings
Food spots, restaurants, and vendors shown on WayMarg are curated for discovery
and inspiration, not verified in real time.
- WayMarg does not inspect, certify, or monitor the food safety, hygiene, or
preparation standards of any restaurant, stall, or vendor listed. Use your own
judgment when choosing where to eat.
- Prices, menu items, dish availability, and operating hours change often and
may not match what's shown. We try to flag known closures, but listings can
still be outdated.
- WayMarg does not provide allergen, nutritional, or dietary-safety
information. If you have allergies or health conditions, check directly with
the vendor before eating.
- Trying street food, small vendors, or unfamiliar dishes carries inherent
risk, especially while traveling. Eat at your own discretion.
7.3 Temple Listings
Temple information shown on WayMarg is curated for planning and discovery, not
verified in real time with each temple administration.
- Temple timings, special darshan slots, and festival schedules change โ
including for reasons outside any temple's control โ and may not match what's
shown. Confirm directly with the temple or its official sources before
visiting.
- Dress code and photography rules vary by temple and may not be reflected
accurately. Follow on-site signage and instructions from temple staff.
- Renovation, restricted access, and ritual schedules can change without
notice. WayMarg is not responsible for trips affected by such changes.
- Temple authorities may restrict entry based on festivals, maintenance,
security, crowd management, or religious practices.
๐ก Spotted something outdated or incorrect? If you notice a closed trail,
changed temple timings, a restaurant that's moved, incorrect permit
information, inaccurate opening hours, or any other travel information that
needs updating, please let us know at
privacy@waymarg.com. We review reports
and update WayMarg to help keep our guides useful for everyone.
8. Affiliate Links & Bookings
WayMarg displays booking links to third-party providers (hotels, flights, trains,
buses). These are affiliate links marked with โ. We earn a commission if you
complete a booking โ at no extra cost to you.
- Booking links are routed through WayMarg's own continuation endpoint before forwarding you to the final provider. This allows us to track anonymous click analytics and maintain provider flexibility. The redirect is transparent โ you always arrive at the provider you selected.
- Clicking a booking link takes you to a third-party website. Their terms and privacy policy apply.
- WayMarg is not responsible for bookings made on third-party sites โ pricing accuracy, availability, cancellations, or disputes.
- Affiliate status does not influence spot rankings, curated trail
selection, or food recommendations. Rankings and curation are based on
quality signals, not commission rates.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use WayMarg to scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data
- Share trip links publicly to collect data from anonymous participants without their knowledge
- Use the shared trip feature to spam or deceive recipients
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload WayMarg's services or Firebase backend
- Use WayMarg for any unlawful purpose
10. Intellectual Property
WayMarg's code, design, branding, and AI prompts are our intellectual property.
Trip plans you create are yours. Spot data sourced from Google Places, Wikidata,
and OpenStreetMap is subject to their respective licences.
11. Limitation of Liability
WayMarg is provided "as is" with no warranties, express or implied. To the
maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WayMarg and its operators are not
liable for:
- Reliance on inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, or changing travel information
- Inaccurate, outdated, or unverified third-party listing information,
certifications, food safety, or adventure trail data โ including any illness,

professional advice (see Section 6a)
- Loss of trip data (locally or on Firebase)

the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tamil Nadu, India.
